As I was drawing this picture I had an odd difficulty with Brigid's waist. Somehow I just could not find the line. Then my partner Viv broke it to me that she was pregnant, so I gave Brigid a little bump. We also gave our daughter the middle name of Bridie, a more fluid Scottish variation of Brigid. Funnily, it never occured to us that she might be a boy, even before the scans.
