This pattern was inspired by fichsias. I’ve always found the combination of colours in the flowers fascinating. To me the colours don’t look quite natural but of course they are because fuchsias haven’t been specially bred or anything. You see them growing wild all over the British Isles. I suppose to make the point I should really have inked the background dark green rather than blue; but for some reason these are the colours that came to mind.
