This was wonderfully fun to do, being less stylised and abstract than the other large pictures It’s kind of a scene from an imaginary folk tale for which you can make up your own story to explain the scenario. A psychoanalyst would probably detect a worrying mistrust of women if considered as a dream and suggest a need to confront one’s own Mother complex; and they would not be far wrong, if I’m honest. Wonderful and charismatic lady that she was, my mother did create some interesting emotional tangles for all her three sons.
