THE DIVINE COUPLE

This shows the characters from Rational Man embarked on their cosmic journey to a new life. The male figure with the very tall head crops up in several pictures. For me he is kind of a spiritual guide or higher self. For a while I was very taken with Gnostic Christianity which, among many other strange and wonderful notions, held that we are all incarnations of a higher self, born with some purpose to fulfil. Dying is like waking from a dream and then we weigh up how successful or not we were in our lives, It’s very similar to Hinduism and Buddhism of course and there were fierce battles in early Christianity before the notion was dismissed as heresy.
