This was a rare case of a drawing not starting and finishing on the same piece of paper. Normally I just sketch lightly with a soft pencil till something takes shape, then strengthen the main lines, ink them and erase the workings. But in this case I ran out of space for the wing on the right. So I traced the outline and transferred it to a larger piece of paper and got the mirror image opposite.
